Species: Paradox Mega-Absol, Dark-Flying type.
Age: ~200 years old
Size: 2m tall, 2,5m long, 5m wingspan.
Character: collected, capable, secure, focused and definitely edgy, can be scary at times. Can easily become angry when not battling.
Abilities: she can speak both with humans and Pokémon, sense imminent danger and fly.
Curiosities: she still wears the Focus Sash her trainer gifted her when she was little, even though it’s almost completely worn out.
Calypso hatched from an egg that her parents entrusted to her trainer, Asterio. They sensed something very wrong was going to happen and, willing to investigate further, they couldn’t take care of her themselves through their journey. She grew up battling and enjoying her travels with Asterio, eventually reaching the role of League Champion of the Helikon region.
One day, a large, eerie purple portal appeared in the sky, and strange creatures emerged, destroying and killing every human and Pokémon in their path. Calypso and Asterio barely escaped and began seeking help.
Over time, Asterio became a multiverse researcher to understand the reason behind the attack. Using the tremendous energy released by Mega Evolution, he managed to open portals. With Calypso's help they stabilized a prototype portal, although she was inexplicably locked in her Mega form and couldn’t revert; in turn, this allowed her to safely travel between dimensions in search of answers. On another world, she discovered that their attackers were Ultra-Creatures coming from another, unknown dimension, seeking new places to colonize and terraform at the expense of the original inhabitants.
When Calypso returned, she found the Multiverse Laboratory had been attacked and Asterio was killed. All that remained of his team was faithful Aura, a Paradox Dragonair who was still fiercely fighting. To save her own life and activate the portal once more to the next location she knew the Ultra-Creatures would attack, Calypso had to leave Aura behind. Her guilt for this action haunts her to this day, manifesting as a vision of her past friend who still guides her through her mission: to find researchers and inform them of the imminent threat. She doesn’t know exactly when the next attack will happen, so she continues to explore the new world she ended up reaching, searching for clues.
Throughout her journey Calypso ended up meeting Macabre, a gluttonous Flygon that decided to aid her cause. To sustain themselves, especially to maintain her colleague’s unlimited requests for Reviving Seeds, they now work together in a Rescue Team saving other Pokémon and humans in need. Her innate abilities to perceive imminent danger comes in handy, although unfortunately they don’t seem to work very well with Macabre; maybe it’s because they’re not truly in danger…?
